Who Am I
Carrying a piano across Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Tunisia, Egypt, and the West Bank was never easy, so I found my band in the guitar. I returned to Palestine at the age of eighteen, and my journey with music became inseparable from my return to Ramallah. I am a songwriter, guitarist, composer, and singer. It feels as though I followed my destiny toward the person I would have become in my free homeland. I write the songs I cannot find, and I sing what I long to hear about Palestine. I tell my story, and the stories of my brothers and sisters. Our dreams are not so different from one another. There is a free Palestine whole and complete filled with countless colorful songs, with voices singing stories of the self and of others. Through music, I document my dreams and the dreams of my friends: anger, hope, love, and the waiting we prepare for with music.
